As a Munich Climate Week (MCW) partner, your event is part of a shared platform for honest, inclusive climate action. This document sets out what we ask of every partner event: how to make it accessible, how to keep its sustainability claims credible, and how to address your organization's own climate accountability during the event.

1. Accessibility

Every partner event should be designed so that as many people as possible can attend, understand, and participate. Please plan for the following:

Physical access

Language access

Economic access

Openness & inclusion

2. Sustainability & Anti-Greenwashing

Every MCW event — how it's run and what it communicates — must meet MCW's sustainability and anti-greenwashing standards. This covers everything from carbon and venue claims to how speakers frame climate data, net-zero pledges, and sponsor eligibility. This is a condition of hosting under the MCW banner, not a recommendation.

The full standards are set out in the MCW Sustainability & Anti-Greenwashing Event Guidelines — please read this before finalizing your event content, and reach out to the MCW team if you're unsure whether something qualifies as greenwashing.

3. Climate Accountability — 4 Questions Every Partner Must Address

As part of your event, whether in opening remarks, on a slide, in printed materials, or on your event page, please address the following four questions about your own organization. This keeps the conversation grounded, honest and consistent with MCW's Manifesto and the EU Empowering Consumer Regulation on sustainability claims.

1. What is your current impact on climate change, and what is in your control?

2. What are you already doing about it?

3. Beyond your current plans, where could you do more?

4. Who can join you, and how, to reach your climate targets?

For guidance on how to phrase these answers with integrity (and what to avoid), see the sustainability guidelines linked in Section 2.
